Terms and Conditions

  1. We will not provide tuition to customers who have booked their practical test without the prior agreement of a Love to Drive representative.
  2. Our introductory offers are only open to those in the early stages of their driver training. These offers cannot be used as part-payment for any other block-booking or intensive style driving course. Where reference is made to "a lesson", a lesson is one-hours long, unless otherwise indicated. Those seeking refresher / motorway / ice & snow tuition or automatic lessons are not eligible for our special offers unless otherwise indicated, however other discounts may be available.
  3. Please be prepared to begin your lesson ten minutes before/after your allocated time allow for unavoidable delays or favourable circumstances. If the instructor is going to be more than ten minutes late/early, he/she will contact you by text/telephone to advise you of such.
  4. If the instructor believes the customer to be under the influence of alcohol or any other substance which may impair driving, the lesson will be terminated immediately and the customer will be liable for the fee in respect of said lesson.
  5. The instructor will carry motor insurance covering the customer whilst driving the tuition vehicle, when accompanied by an instructor or DSA examiner.
  6. Where the customer provides the tuition vehicle, the customer is responsible for providing adequate insurance cover for third party liability, for receiving driver training and taking a driving test.
  7. In requesting lessons, the customer agrees that they are licensed to drive the tuition vehicle. The customer must produce both parts of their provisional driving licence before being permitted to drive for the first time. The customer must inform the instructor immediately if their entitlement to drive changes. The instructor reserves the right of sight of the customer's provisional licence from time to time.
  8. At the minimum, all lessons must be paid in full, on collection of the customer for said lesson.
  9. If the customer fails to give the instructor a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or change any lessons, the customer may be liable for the lesson fee in respect of said lesson. The instructor reserves the right to then stipulate that all future lessons be paid for in advance. (Special exceptions may be considered.)
  10. If the customer short-term cancels or does not attend two lessons with any instructor, the customer shall be liable for the lesson fees for both lessons, and the customer may no longer be considered for instruction by any Love to Drive instructor.
  11. Pre-paid tuition (including the purchase of blocks of tuition) are valid for a maximum of three-months from date of purchase or "valid from" date, unless otherwise indicated. If a customer is unable to start taking / complete their driving lessons within the stated timeframe, they must contact us within that period to discuss the possibility of a short extension to the validity (which is not guaranteed), or the voucher / lessons will become void. We reserve the right to request extension requests be made in writing and proof of circumstances provided when considering any validity extensions.
  12. In the case of block bookings/payments, full payment must be made in advance of the first lesson of the block. No refund can be given if the customer chooses not to take any or all of the lessons or course paid for. Should a customer be unable to continue with tuition for extreme circumstances, tuition will be calculated at an hourly rate and an administration fee may be deducted from any refund. Proof of these circumstances may be required. Tuition is not transferable.
  13. Customers may take a maximum of 8-hours of driving lessons per week (where available). Should a customer wish to take more than this, we will consider this an intensive style course, which shall be charged accordingly .A notice period may be required where customers are seeking several lessons per week, however we will endeavour to accommodate customer requests wherever possible. Should customers wish to learn to drive over a very short timeframe, we would suggest one of our semi-intensive/intensive course.
  14. Payment shall be made in full for intensive courses, a minimum of 4-weeks in advance of the first lesson of the course (see Intensive Courses page for further information). Should you wish to cancel a course within the 28-day period, no refund shall be provided. We are unable to change the commencement date of a course, should it be due to commence within 28-days.
  15. Payment shall be made in full for semi-intensive courses, a minimum of 4-weeks before the first lesson of the course (see Semi-Intensive Courses page for further information). A minimum of 15 working days notice is required should you wish to cancel or change a course. An additional payment may be required if a course is cancelled or changed before the cut-off period. No refund shall be given if a course is cancelled after the cut-off period.
  16. The instructor shall have the right to substitute another suitable instructor for the purposes of giving all or any of the lessons if the instructor is not available for any reason.
  17. In the event that the instructor is unable to substitute another instructor for a specific appointment, or in the event of a mechanical breakdown or other unforeseen circumstances, the instructor reserves the right to re-arrange the lesson at a time convenient to both parties.
  18. Discount cards, money off vouchers and gift vouchers have a no monetary value and will only be accepted after verification by a Love to Drive staff member.
  19. Any training material provided by us Must be returned on the completion of lessons . Failure to do this will result in a charge of £30 plus our standard admin fee (currently £30 ).
  20. In the unlikely event you have a complaint about an Love to Drive instructor or trainer ~ or Love to Drive as a whole ~ please refer to our Complaints Procedure below.

No customer will be presented for test unless their instructor feels that they are fully prepared. (This also applies to re-tests).

Complaints Procedure

We place a real emphasis on communication at Love to Drive. There's always a way to get in touch with us, should you need any help or advice. In the unlikely event you feel things aren't going as well as you would like, please follow the procedure detailed below.

  1. Should have a complaint regarding your Love to Drive driving instructor you should, where possible, direct these complaints to them in the first instance. Should you not receive satisfaction, or if you feel that the relationship has broken down to a position where you feel you cannot discuss matters with the instructor, they should be addressed in writing, via email. Should we feel that the issue raised requires a fuller investigation, we may request that you submit your complaint in writing. Supporting documentation/information may also be requested at this stage. We will acknowledge these letters within 3-days of receipt and will provide a full response within 14-days.
  2. Should you have any complaints regarding training materials supplied or Love to Drive as a whole, please also address these to Love to Drive via email. Should we feel that the issue raised requires a fuller investigation, we may request that you submit your complaint in writing and provide supporting information/documentation. We will acknowledge these letters within 3-days of receipt and will respond more fully within 21 days.
  3. Should you feel any complaints have gone unresolved, reference may be made to the Driving Standards Agency’s Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors, who will consider the matter and advise accordingly. It is worth noting that the Driving Standards Agency will not become involved in maters concerning payment by clients of tuition fees, readiness for test, or any other contractual matter not directly concerned with the giving of driving instruction.
